I came into this anime expecting it to be another sports anime. Instead week after week my hearts breaks a little for each of these characters as their backstory gets told and their home life is revealed.
People keep saying that it's not a sports anime.. So what?
The anime isn't really your typical sports anime, to put it shortly it's like Magical Madoka. There are several incidents that are touched upon and are very well written in.
So, this is a sweet friendship anime about tennis, yes. However it is far more than that too and does not shy away from serious topics.
It's not a pure sports anime...But if you can get over that it is probably one of the best anime dramas in recent history...
This show is really good, it's so much more than just a typical sports anime. It deals with serious themes and can be hard hitting at times.
You might say "Another sports anime? come on".
I enjoyed it, it's not the best anime out there but it's entertaining. I liked the friendships, the representation and the message that tries to convey: everyone struggles with something.
